Findings: There is increased activity in the right parietal region with central photopenia. In addition, there is increased activity in the left ankle, likely representing degenerative changes. The remainder of the skeleton demonstrates a normal tracer distribution
DDx: meningioma, infarction, metastases
Diagnosis: Meningioma
General Discussion: Bone scan correctly identified the lesion as non-metastatic. Follow-up CT examination performed 9 months after bone scan demonstrated 4.7 X 3.6 cm calcified mass in the right parietal region, compatible with a meningioma arising from the falx. Further evaluation with MRI examination favored the diagnosis of meningioma.
Specific Discussion: Similar case is seen in a recently published article, which demonstrated meningioma as an incidental finding during breast cancer metastatic workup
