Findings: Radiopharmaceutical: 14.8 mCi Xe-133 gas by inhalation and 4.1 mCi Tc-99m MAA i.v.
Findings:
The Xe-133 ventilation images show patchy areas of decreased ventilation, worst in the left upper lobe, with marked Xe-133 retention, left greater than right. The perfusion images show essentially matched, patchy decreased perfusion, most severe in the left lung (particularly the anterior segment of the left upper lobe, the lingula, and anterior segment of the left lower lobe). (Fig. 1)
These findings are new when compared with the prior examination (Fig. 2).
[pagebreak]
High-resolution CT images (Fig. 3) demonstrate diffuse mosaic attenuation in the upper lung zones predominantly and diffuse areas of air trapping bilaterally. There has been interval development of bronchiectasis bilaterally, involving the upper and lower lobes.
